BlueStacks allows Android to run on Windows PCs
BlueStacks is an app that lets one run Android applications on just about any x86-based Windows-powered machine, which is also one of the more recent attempts to bring the benefits of a mobile operating system over to a traditional computing platform. For instance, Apple’s Mac OS X Lion will bring a slew of iOS featuers over to the Mac desktop and notebooks, while HP will be offering their webOS mobile operating system to their range of PCs. BlueStacks is very close to Parallels Desktop for Mac in the way it runs, so you need not reboot the computer in order to start up a different operating system. Of course, this opens up the possibility of turning a Windows-powered tablet into an Android one, all for the price of just one, now how about that? No idea if this will slow down the performance terribly, but tablets do come with beefy processors by default (with some exceptions), so that shouldn’t be too much to worry about.
