As it stands Acer has not been making much waves in the tablet market, even pushing back one of their tablets, the Acer Iconia Tab A100. Even their current tablets the Iconia Tab A500 and W500 have not been experiencing the same success that the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer has found, or the Motorola Xoom and to a certain extent even the Blackberry Playbook running on an entirely different platform received more fanfare than Acer did.
So is it really surprising to know that Acer has decided to slash their tablet forecasts by nearly 60%? That would mean that their earlier forecast of five to seven million in 2011 to 2.5 to three million units, according to Acer’s current Chairman and CEO JT Wang. Is Acer trying to fight against the tablet revolution, in hopes that their Chrome OS laptops will start picking up instead?
