Sputnik 0667 PC Casemod Goes Retro

If you’re thinking that you’re looking at some retro television from the 1950’s or 1960’s you would be wrong, but we’re thinking that Swedish artist Love Hulten will be glad he managed to fool you into thinking so. This is actually a PC casemod that the artist calls the Sputnik 0667 and we’re loving it. It does take you back to the days where computers actually looked like that, think the Commodore PET computer what with how the keyboard has been designed to be “built in” along with the trapezoid lines and angles.

When not in use the keyboard and mouse area can be folded  up into itself and look complete unassuming, so anyone visiting your house would probably just think it’s an antique piece of furniture, but little do they know when they open it up it’s actually a Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 Mini-ITX mobo, featuring an Intel Core i3 550 3.2GHz CPU with a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 GPU, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB WD hard drive. That would hardly classify as retro.

The artist even went to painstaking efforts to create advertisements for the casemod in an attempt to showcase what the ads would have looked like back in the day, assuming of course this was a product that could be bought back then. It’s pretty spot on and we really have to tip our hats off to Love Hulten for all the work and effort put into this casemod. Talk about dedication!
