Amazon press conference, new tablet announcement imminent?

There are whispers of an Amazon press conference which will be held this coming September 28th – that is just five days away, and the obvious candidate for an announcement would be the long awaited Amazon tablet. We still do not know much about the upcoming tablet apart from the fact that it, like the end of the world, is coming.

Amazon already has the website (that is tablet-friendly, of course) in place, and for additional details, you can check out our previous story here. What’s your take on this press conference – will it be a pre-emptive strike against the iPhone 5’s imminent release? Granted, both are very different devices, but they are sure to make ripples in the gadget market.
