Dell Launches Android Shopping App

Computer giant Dell has launched a mobile store in the form of a new Android app which features fast product browsing and a clean user interface. Interestingly enough, it is much more enjoyable to browse than Dell’s website, which has been somewhat overloaded with data and cluttered over the years.

I’m not sure if all the Dell products are available, but popular items were easy to find. The big difference with Dell.com is that it doesn’t seem possible to put add-ons on computer configurations. This may be because it would have made the user interface too complex.

Dell has openly said that “People are using mobile apps like never before to browse for and purchase products,”, and given that over the past couple of years mobile shopping has grown dramatically, and it wants to make sure that it is mobile-ready for the 2011 holidays. [On Dell.com]

Have you shopped from your mobile before? Do you prefer that to shopping from a normal site, or is it because you can do it when it is convenient to you?
