Considering how the U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance alone took so long, the MobiUS system that was originally constructed to function in fetal, abdominal, cardiac, pelvic, and peripheral vessel imaging currently works with the 2-year-old Windows Mobile 6.5-based Toshiba TG01 smartphone, using a USB 2.0 port for the probe in the process. That’s a bummer, especially if you’ve just forked out that insane amount of dough.
Since most folks are jiving to the iPhone and Android-powered handsets, I don’t know how many people will adopt the MobiUS but I guess only time will tell. Makes you wonder at times whether all that red tape in the government could be shortened or not.
