Pandigital Supernova bursts onto the scene

The tablet scene is definitely an overcrowded one if your device runs on the Android operating system – but if you’re an iPad toting fan, then there really isn’t much to be worried about since the number of models to choose from won’t require a rocket scientist-like brain to figure out what suits your needs best. When it comes to Android tablets, however, it is a totally different story – and hopefully as the Pandigital Supernova bursts onto the scene, it will brighten up your choice tablet list.

This 8″ tablet will retail for $230 a pop if you’re interested, and we’re left scratching our heads as to why Pandigital decided to stick with Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of taking the tablet-centric Honeycomb route. A single-core 1GHz A8 processor runs proceedings from underneath the hood, while the 4GB of storage can be further augmented thanks to a microSD memory card slot. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are thrown into the mix for easy connectivity, and it does seem to be a decent Android tablet at the low end side. Would’ve been nice to see Honeycomb in action though…
