Amazon Kindle Fire experiences Wi-Fi issues?

Kindle FireIt seems that the recently released Kindle Fire from Amazon has had some Wi-Fi issues – according to complaints made over at Amazon’s support forums. Some of the owners do report spotty connectivity (basically that means a connection that drops and gets back with the program on and off in a random manner), disconnections, or even being unable to hook up to a perfectly legitimate Wi-Fi hotspot in the first place.

According to some of the other users, this particular issue is not a death sentence – it can be fixed through a change in settings on the router, that is, to change to static IPs instead of using DHCP-assigned addresses. The other standy solution is to perform a full restart of the router, while resetting the Kindle Fire also proved to be a winner for some others as well. How about you – have you experienced such connectivity issues with your spanking new Kindle Fire? Amazon has yet to come forth with an official statement, so we will just have to sit this out for the moment.
