Google rolls out factory image for Galaxy Nexus

Google’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the next flagship handset that will also be the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered smartphone, and Google claims that this device is a snap to restore. Earlier today on the Android Building Google Groups page, it seems that a complete factory image will be available for the Galaxy Nexus, where it has been rolled out, throwing in the bootloader, baseband and the rest of the system as well. You will be able to unarchive the package the moment it is downloaded and take a peek at everything within individually. Of course, an easier way of doing so would be to rely on the useful “flash-all” script which has been included in the package. That “super power” will flash everything required to return your handset back to the factory state.

According to Jean-Baptiste M. “JBQ” Queru, Software Engineer for the Android Open-Source Project, he says that “hopefully this’ll be useful to people flashing custom AOSP builds, as it provides a clean supported way to return to factory state.”
