HotPad web app “overclocks” your iPad

When Apple’s new iPad was launched, there were some reports that the tablet was experiencing some heat issues. Despite the Apple support pages stretching out well over 17 pages of users complaining about the problem, Apple has since stepped forward and claimed that the new iPad did not have any heat issues and that its operating temperatures were well within range, although to be honest with the new display, improved graphics and larger battery, we can’t say we’re too surprised if the new iPad did run slightly warmer (but not alarmingly hot) compared to its predecessor.

In any case, it seems that the folks over at the Primary Coffee Company have a pretty good sense of humor as they have since released a web app the “overclocks” your iPad to temperatures hot enough to keep a cup of coffee warm for hours. This is obviously a joke and the web app basically displays virtual heat coils that glow red the longer you “overclock” your iPad. The company claims that the web app doesn’t actually damage your iPad, although placing a hot cup of coffee on top of your brand new iPad might. If you’d like to trick your not-so tech savvy friends that their iPad is overheating, grab their tablet and point their browser at the HotPad web app.
