Polaroid PMID701i tablet shows up at the FCC with Android 4.0 on board

While Polaroid may not necessarily be a brand that comes to mind when it comes to Android tablets, it certainly looks like they might have many bigger named manufacturers beat when it comes to rolling out devices with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Polaroid had originally unveiled a series of tablets at CES earlier this year with Android 2.2 and 2.3, but a recent FCC filing discovered by Liliputing has outed a new tablet, the PMID701i, with Android 4.0 on board.

It has also been revealed that despite the tablet getting a software upgrade, the rest of its specs leave a lot to be desired. If you are looking to pick up the PMID701i for yourself, expect to find a 7” 800×480 display with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU on board with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will also feature WiFi connectivity and a microSDHC card for memory expansion and boasts a battery life of about 5-6 hours. No word on pricing just yet, but given the specs we don’t expect this particular tablet to break the bank.
