Game developer Konami has taken off the wraps and revealed a fall release this year for the next installment of the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise. Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 is set to release on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, PC, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo 3DS. According to the press release, the return of this year’s game will mark a return to the series’ roots which apparently focused on the individual skills of the world’s best soccer players.

Players will not only be given complete freedom to play in any style on the ball but also provided with minor details with significant impact like full control over shots. The soccer players that will feature in PES 2013 have been recreated to mirror their real-life counterparts. Instead of just making them look as alike as possible, Konami has included personal factors like running motions, abilities, playing styles and a few others. The three key areas of innovation in PES 2013 that Konami will be focusing on are PES FullControl, Player ID and ProActive AI.

PES European Team Leader, Jon Murphy said, “This is an exciting time to be part of the PES community, and PES 2013 marks a new level of playability with the return of our key ethos of utter control and freedom. Football (soccer) is all about making magic happen with skill and precision, and PES 2013 truly encapsulates this. Fresh faces within the development team and some very exciting ideas will breathe new life into the PES series, and we look forward to showing what we can do in the coming months.” For a glimpse at the recently launched debut trailer for PES 2013, you can watch the video embedded above for your convenience.
