Unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus gets OTA update, dropped signals fixed?

If you are an owner of the unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus from Samsung, then here is a little bit of good news for you – it seems that there has been a tiny OTA update notification released earlier this morning which is said to have fixed the signal loss issues which accompanied build IMM76D. This new build, known as IMM76I, will not change the Android version, kernel, or radios in any way, and while some folks have reported that the dropped signals issue has been fixed, it remains to be seen whether other changes have also been made internally to the software.

Folks who want to perform a manual update can head on here, just make sure that you have all of your data backed up somewhere before you perform this manual update. Bear in mind that this particular update will cater only for those who have rooted Galaxy Nexus models (rooted here referring to gaining privileged control within your smartphone’s subsystem, letting you replace system applications and settings for a greater degree of customization). Other Galaxy Nexus owners will just have to be patient and wait for the official OTA update.
