Steam Client Beta Adds Remote Install Support

The latest version of Steam now allows users to manage the games within the client itself from any web browser including the one on your mobile device. As is being detailed on Steam forums, the feature is still in its testing phase which comes along with the latest beta client update. To accomplish game management from anywhere at all, users are required to leave their Steam client running on either your PC or Mac at home.

With the assumption in place that you don’t mind doing that, users can log into their Steam account through a browser anywhere else and make whatever changes required. In essence, what this means is that users of Steam’s client can buy games wherever they are and start the installation process immediately after making the purchase. This seems to be the best kind of news particularly for anticipated new releases which don’t offer pre-loading. Since this is still in beta though, maybe the folks over Valve will have some time to refine it further.
