Chuwi V99 tablet has Retina Display quality

If someone were to ask you to pick between the Chuwi V99 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, which tablet would you gun for? I would like to think that most folks would, without a doubt, go for the choice from South Korea instead of settling for something from China. What if I were to tell you that the Chuwi V99 is no slouch in the performance department, where it comes with a dual-core Rockchip RK3066 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice right out the box, as well as a 9.7” display at 2048 x 1536 resolution – which clearly places it in Retina Display category. Of course, before the Chuwi V99 gets too famous, Google must have got a whiff of it and released a pre-emptive strike with their $399 Google Nexus 10 that boasts of a 10.1” display at 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Still, the Google Nexus 10 is a few weeks away from an official release, making the Chuwi V99 the temporary king of the hill at the moment where having a high resolution display on an Android-powered tablet is concerned. Pricing-wise, it is meant to sell considering how different websites have slapped a $250 to $290 price tag on it. Heck, more visual real estate and a far superior resolution compared to the iPad mini, and yet it is cheaper by $30 at the very least. Will its battery life be phenomenal enough to also affect the iPad mini’s sales if the Chuwi V99 were to be made available worldwide?
