Alcatel One Touch Idol Unlocked Available Now For $300

ONE-TOUCH-Idol

Alcatel is a little known company that makes Android smartphones as well as small feature phones. At the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 back in January Alcatel announced the One Touch Idol smartphone, dubbed the lightest smartphone in its category. Weighing just 110 grams, the One Touch Idol has a 4.7 inch display with a 1.2GHz dualcore processor hooked up with 512MB of RAM. Not exactly an Android powerhouse, but its now finally available in the U.S. for $300, unlocked.

Since the One Touch Idol won’t be carried by any U.S. network, Alcatel is selling it through its own website. The smartphone does support quadband GSM and HGz 900 / 2100 HSPA bands, which means that it will work just fine on T-Mobile and AT&T. Aside from the aforementioned specs, the smartphone also has an 8 megapixel camera, 4GB internal storage and Android 4.1 OS. Regardless of the fact that it’s not from a well known brand, the Alcatel One Touch Idol does make up for a supremely well equipped mid-range Android smartphone that’s carrier free. If you’ve been looking for such a device, do give some thought to this underdog as well.
