The BlackBerry Z10 smartphone was unveiled in January earlier this year, alongside its full QWERTY keyboard touting brother, the Q10. Both of these devices run on BlackBerry’s new OS10 platform. Soon after the platform itself was unveiled, the company revealed that it would be bringing a host of new enhancements and improvements in OS10.1. AT&T BlackBerry Z10 users finally get the OS10.1 update today, months after it was initially rolled out.

The announcement has formally been made regarding this update. AT&T BlackBerry Z10 users will be receiving OS10.1 update over-the-air. Alternatively, there’s also the option of connecting the smartphone via USB to a computer and updating manually through BlackBerry Link. There are more than a dozen new features in this update, including but not limited to HDR mode, PIN-to-PIN messaging and even support for that ported Skype app. The Z10 was the first BB10 device to be released Stateside, despite that it has failed to make any substantial waves in the U.S. smartphone market.
