Alleged iPhone 5C Shell Can Be Bought In China For $16

Over the past couple of days and weeks, we’ve seen various leaks of the upcoming Apple iPhone 5C, Apple’s rumored low-cost iPhone. So far all the leaks have been pretty consistent and shows off a device which upon first glance shares similar dimensions as the iPhone 5, but the main difference would be that instead of an aluminum body, it will feature a plastic body that we assume helped keep costs down. Well as it turns out if you wanted to own the shell of the alleged iPhone 5C, you can for $16! Yup it looks like over in China, the empty shell of the iPhone 5C has made its way onto Taobao, the China equivalent of eBay.

The device appears to be fully assembled, but it should be noted that it is actually hollowed and stuffed with yellow cardboard, so you will not be actually getting the working phone, but if you want to show off to your friends that you have an iPhone 5C component, this could do the trick. The shell shows the FCC logo and various legal/regulatory markings which adds a touch of authenticity since we have no way of confirming if this is the real deal, but for $16 it doesn’t seem like too bad a deal, does it?
