The Parrot AR.Drone is undoubtedly one of the most popular drones available that can be controlled via a smartphone. Back at CES 2013 the company announced a number of improvements and accessories for the drone such as a GPS flight recorder, a director mode for advanced video capture and a high-density battery which increases flying time by 50 percent to bring it up to 18 minutes. These accessories recently went on sale. However, if 18 minutes of flying time is not sufficient for you, Parrot has a limited edition AR.Drone 2.0 out that effectively doubles the flying time to 36 minutes.

Costing $370, this particular variant of AR.Drone 2.0 features two upgraded high-density 1,500 mAh lithium-polymer batteries that allowing 36 minutes of flying time without needing a recharge, this equals to 18 minutes per each battery. The Power Edition drone works with AR.Drone 2.0 apps for both iOS and Android which are already available through their respective app distribution channels. The Power Edition AR.Drone 2.0 also comes with a new set of colored blades in red, blue, orange and black. The drone can be used to capture video in 720p HD, play augmented reality games, get a pilot’s eye view while flying through the front facing camera and much more. Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition is available online through Brookstone.
