Panasonic 65-Inch 4K LCD With HDMI 2.0 Leaked

panasonic-hdmi2It was not too long ago when we brought you word that Panasonic was preparing to reveal a 20” 4K tablet, and this particularly high resolution tablet will make its way to the IFA 2013 showfloor, although it will not be available to the masses just yet since it remains as a prototype device that might or might not eventually be commercialized. Having said that, does Panasonic have any more tricks up their sleeves? The answer would be a resounding “Yes!”, as an AV Forums reader did spot a number of webpages which were cached prior to the company’s launch event that featured its upcoming 4K resolution WT600 TV in addition to another juicy bit – details surrounding the HDMI 2.0 specifications.

At point of publishing, existing HDMI 1.4 connectors are able to handle 4K content at 30fps, while the cached webpages did mention that HDMI 2.0 is capable of supporting at least 60fps, although it remains to be seen whether any further capabilities will be revealed. Other hardware specifications leaked out include support for DisplayPort 1.2 in addition to other 4K specific such as a web browser, media player, rendering engine and THX certification. One thing is for sure, a 65″ 4K LCD with HDMI 2.0 specifications is not going to come cheap by any means.
