CompuLab IPC2 Does Not Look Like A PC At All

CompuLab’s Intense PC was quite a looker when it first shipped with the Intel Sandy Bridge processor family, and so it is nice to hear that the IPC 2 is now on the receiving end of the faster and more efficient Haswell processor range, which inadvertently makes the IPC2 a whole lot more powerful and efficient compared to its predecessor. On the outside, however, you might be hard-pressed to believe that anything has changed since it looks just the same, as though it was some sort of weird design hybrid that was inspired by elements of a cable modem and a heatsink rather than your regular desktop machine. The fins on the outside will help dissipate heat, which is a big deal since this is a fanless machine – which means it will run in a whisper quiet manner.

Of course, when we say “whisper quiet”, it would be true as long as you use a SSD instead of a hard drive, but then again, hard drives these days tend to be rather quiet when they run as well. There will be a trio of base configurations to choose from – the low-end model with a Core i3 chip, a mid-range i5, and a Pro model with an i7 processor. Apart from that, you will also benefit from a quartet of USB 3.0 ports, 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity, a second HDMI port, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, and the ability to play nice with up to three internal drives.
