2013 DROID Smartphones To Get Android 4.4.3 KitKat Right Away

motorola-droid-maxx-review-12There is just something about being in an “express class” when one is at school or a higher learning institution. It does have an air of elitism to it, not to mention being able to complete whatever we are supposed to study at a faster rate than our more ordinary peers. Having said that, to see a smartphone range skip a level in terms of its software update is always a welcome sight, and it is the 2013 DROID smartphones from Motorola that has been given such a treatment this time around, according to Motorola senior director of software product management David Schuster.

Schuster mentioned that Android 4.4.3 KitKat will be arriving to the 2013 DROID handsets, which means the likes of the Motorola DROID Ultra, Motorola DROID MAXX and Motorola DROID Mini will miss the Android 4.4.2 bus in order to pick up the latest Android build that has just made its way to a bunch of Nexus devices, in addition to select Google Play edition smartphones.

Schuster touted that Motorola ran into some problems where Android 4.4.2 is concerned, hence requiring the manufacturer to come to a decision. Going ahead with Android 4.4.2 could have translated to a delay of up to a month, and Motorola is “working to get this update to you shortly.” Other Moto devices too have already started to receive the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update.
