You’re going to have a whole lot of fun playing the next Assassin’s Creed game with your mates. At Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference today a new feature of Assassin’s Creed Unity was revealed. Players will be able to form their own brotherhoods as the game supports four-player co-op. Set during the French Revolution this title is being built exclusively for next-generation consoles and the PC. Nine studios are working on it under the leadership of Ubisoft Montreal.
It will be possible to play with up to three friends online as the brotherhood silently and inconspicuously moves through the crowd before striking its target. Unity feels quintessentially Assassin’s Creed, so fans shouldn’t really expect radical changes to the entire theme and experience.
The four-player co-op mode is a major addition to this game, its actually the first time that the mode has been included in the entire franchise. This open-world title has “the largest playground in the series to date,” and offers players the option to switch between the main free world and detailed internal locations without having to pause.
The trailer that was shown during E3 follows a brotherhood for four Assassins as they try and successfully infiltrate a guarded palace. Assassin’s Creed Unity will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC whenever it launches. Unfortunately a release date wasn’t announced.
