We first heard back in March this year that The Last of Us was going to make its way to the PlayStation 4. It was actually let slip by PlayStation Eurasian Software Market Manager Sercan Sulun on CNN Turk’s Multiplayer gaming show that the title will drop this summer, however a solid release date wasn’t confirmed until now. At E3 2014 Sony has officially confirmed The Last of Us Remastered release date for PS4.

Naughty Dog’s popular post-apocalyptic title has already been quite popular on the previous generation console. As of mid-March 2014 it had sold over six million copies around the globe. The remastered version brings the full original game apart from all multiplayer DLC and the Left Behind campaign expansion.

Sony has also confirmed that The Last of Us Remastered will offer full 1080p HD output with additional improvements, including but not limited to “higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures.” So not only do first time players get the entire story upfront, those who have already played it on the PlayStation 3 get improved graphics and an overall enhanced gameplay experience.

During its E3 2014 press conference Sony confirmed that The Last of Us Remastered release for PlayStation 4 takes place on July 29th, 2014. A little over a month to go, keep counting down those days, I know I will.
