Over the past few months Samsung and its carrier partners have gradually been rolling out the KitKat update for supported devices. Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat late last year, it brought a handful of improvements and tweaks apart from subtle user interface changes. Since newer devices often have priority some of the older devices have had to wait for quite some time. The wait end today for one of them. Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 update has now been released.

Verizon is now pushing out said update over-the-air, users should see it pop up automatically on their devices. However since these roll outs often take places in stages it won’t go live for all users at once. All regions should be covered by the next couple of days.

The official release notes for Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 update reveal that support for Samsung Knox 2.0 has been added apart from the ability to pair to a Gear 2 smartwatch. Samsung Music and S Suggest applications have been removed while four new apps come as part and parcel of the update.

A laundry list of issues have also been resolved in the KitKat update. Improved connectivity for streaming music and better stability for Samsung Gear Manager are also promised. The update also brings all features and tweaks that are included in the core OS, Android 4.4.
