The company announced the Acer Chromebox CXI series for customers in North America. Acer says this product is geared towards budget concious users, small to medium businesses and the education sector.

The Chromebox CXI has an Intel Celeron 2957U processor under the hood which is based on Intel’s Haswell micro-architecture. Accompanying the chip is 4GB of DDR3 memory and Intel HD graphics. Apart from 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, there’s Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0, four USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader, HDMI and DisplayPort.

Acer says its Chromebox CXI series has the smallest available footprints enabling the Chromebox to stand upright or be mounted on the back of a monitor. It is capable of booting up in eight seconds and can resume instantly from safe mode as it has a 16GB Solid State Drive. With the VESA mountable chassis Acer’s Chromebox comes in at 6.51 x 5.12 x 1.3-inches.

Acer Chromebox CXI series will be available starting next month from retailers and resellers in the U.S. and Canada. The Chromebox CXI-2GKM model with 2GB of RAM starts from $179.99 in the U.S. Customers receive a standard one-year parts and labor warranty which can be extended to three years with the Acer Advantage service.
