Intel-powered ASUS MeMO Pad 7 Tablet Unveiled

Asus-Memo-Pad-7-01While Intel-powered Android smartphones are few and far in between, the same cannot be said for tablets because if you are looking for a new Android tablet, ASUS has recently announced the MeMO Pad 7 ME57c. The device is an Android-powered tablet that will use Intel’s Atom chipset, as opposed to a chipset of the ARM variety.

The MeMO Pad 7 will sport a 1920×1200 7-inch display and under the hood, it will be powered by an Intel Atom Z3560 quad-core 64-bit processor. While the processor might not be as powerful as the Bay Trail used in the MeMO Pad 8, the fact that it uses a less powerful processor should go a long way in conserving battery life, which according to ASUS should provide about 11 hours of use before requiring a recharge.

Other features of the tablet includes 2GB of RAM, 16-32GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and will also come with 3G/4G options. The tablet will also run on Android 4.4 KitKat and is expected to be priced at around 199 Euro, which should mean that it will cost around $199 when it makes its way stateside later this year, so if you’re in the market for an Intel-powered Android tablet, perhaps the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 could be worth taking a look at.
