GoPro Said To Develop Consumer Drones

drone-harrassFor those who are adrenaline junkies and simply cannot live without a sense of danger or adventure happening around you, chances are you would have picked up a GoPro camera along the way, too. After all, once you have lived to tell your tale to others, you might as well show it to them with your GoPro recording, right? It seems that GoPro has plans in the future that will involve far more than just regular action cameras that can take quite a hit – they do intend to enter the drone business.

Yes sir, you read that right. The drone business, which requires a pilot’s license by the FAA if you were to fly your drone out in the public, is going to see yet another entrant in the form of GoPro, at least according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. GoPro will supposedly begin sales of personal drones sometime in 2015, where it ought to retail for $500 to $1,000. This might seem to be a masterstroke, since many consumer drones will be sold either with or support the mounting of a GoPro camera. By making a move in this competitive market, GoPro would eliminate the middle party. We do hope that the first batch of GoPro drones would come with retro-fitting mounts right from the get go.
