There have been a lot of rumors recently about Hideo Kojima’s future. This has got many fans worried as Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is currently in the pipeline and fans probably wouldn’t want this title to be completed without Kojima’s oversight. To put some of those rumors to rest Konami and Kojima Productions chief Hideo Kojima released a joint statement reassuring fans that Kojima is “100 percent involved” in the production of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

“I want to reassure fans that I am 100% involved and will continue working on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain,” said Kojima, “I’m determined to make it the greatest game I’ve directed to date. Don’t miss it!”

While Konami did not touch on the subject of Kojima’s future with the company it did say that he will remain involved “throughout” the development of this upcoming title.

Konami also said that it will keep on developing and releasing “top-quality content” in the MGS series after The Phantom Pain is released.

The company has already announced that it’s going to make new Metal Gear Solid games and has even begun hiring new talent to get the projects underway.

Rumor has it that there has been a falling out between Konami and Kojima Productions and this could see Kojima leaving the company later this year, presumably after The Phantom Pain is released, though both parties have neither confirmed nor denied this yet.
