More details about Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain were recently revealed. We now know when this title will be released. The release date had actually been revealed prior to the official announcement by Konami. The title will be accompanied by Metal Gear Online, its competitive multiplayer component, on launch day later this year. Amazon has already started taking pre-orders for the Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain collector’s edition for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Konami has already confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 1st, 2015. On September 15th the title will arrive for PC gamers via Steam.

Collector’s edition is only being offered for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Priced at $99.99 it brings a collectible SteelBook, physical map, exclusive packaging, half scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm and a Blu-ray disc with behind the scenes commentary and trailers.

Additional game contents include four costumes for Snake, a Venom Snake emblem, Metal Gear Online XP boost, several weapons and shields as well as exclusive weapons for Metal Gear Online.

You have to consider all of the goodies that are offered with the big box version of this game to decide whether or not it justifies the $99.99 price tag. The title itself costs $59.99 for next-gen consoles while gamers who own a PS3 or Xbox 360 will pay $49.99 for Metal Gear Solid 5.
