However the folks at Nordstrom are hoping to make the lives of their shoppers easier by testing curbside pickups. Basically customers can shop and make their purchases online and choose to have a staff member wait outside the store or mall with your package ready. From there you just need to collect it from them and you’re good to go, no need to deal with the hassles of trying to find parking and navigating the crowds usually found in shopping malls.
Unfortunately not all Nordstrom outlets will offer the service as the company is still testing the program to see if it is viable. Only several outlets will offer the service including the company’s flagship store located in Seattle. According to the company’s President of stores, Jamie Nordstrom, “We’re trying to make shopping more convenient. In the past we’ve made people come all the way up to the back of the third floor.”
With the creation of this service, it could potentially allow Nordstrom to better compete with other retailers, such as Amazon who have over the years offered different methods for customers to pick up their packages, with the latest option to deliver into the trunk of a customer’s car directly.
