How Much Did The Steam Summer Sale Make?

steam_summer_saleThe Steam Summer Sale has come and gone, and in a world that is full of numbers and figures, one question remains. Was the sale a huge success, or has it been a failure? Which games made the most out of the situation? More importantly, how much money was made throughout the entire sales period? SteamSpy happens to be an online tool which will make use of publicly available information from Steam’s API in order to come up with the relevant sales data. It has been live for a few months already, and it has certainly proven its worth to handle the figures from the recent Steam sale.

Basically, the title that earned the most from the lot happens to be Ark: Survival Evolved, where it pulled in over $10 million in revenue alone. Taking into consideration how the team behind the game is an indie outfit that hovers around 40 heads, this is huge for them. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive managed to shift slightly less than 830,000 units, where it picked up close to $6.2 million, placing it in second place.

Perhaps Valve is just too busy selling games to remain in business rather than to spend their time working on Half-Life 3, eh? It does seem as though there will be future iterations of the Steam Sale going by how it performed this time around.
