Live TV To Get Consumer Hologram Experience

labandaIt looks like the live TV experience is about to get a whole lot interesting, thanks to the folks over at Verizon. Apparently, Verizon has partnered with Univision’s latest music competition show, which is known as “La Banda,” in order to furnish one lucky viewer a chance to look as though he or she is a “4th judge”. This is not done through some sort of pixie dust, but rather, via hologram.

Univision looks to the boy band machinery to churn out a Latino boy band this time around, where La Banda has plenty of potential to succeed since it is executive-produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin, where this new music-based reality competition show will ensure that the solitary all-male group will gain an opportunity of a lifetime, and Verizon’s expertise will be called on to deliver a unique digital experience to one lucky viewer.

The Univision Conecta app will be used as a tool for viewers to place their votes for their favorite contestants, as well as to gain access to exclusive content. Via this app, viewers are able to accumulate points in order to be in the running to win a spot on the semi-finale in the form of a hologram – as the fourth judge, no less. If you are interested to give it a stab, La Banda will air on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT (7:00 p.m. CT) on Univision. [Press Release]
