Rock Band 4 Xbox Adapter Costs $25 As A Standalone Device

rb4-adapterMembership has its privileges, or so we are told. Having said that, it looks like Harmonix has shared how Amazon customers will be on the receiving end of a discount when it comes to picking up the Rock Band 4 Xbox adapter. This particular adapter is required if you happen to live the rather prudent lifestyle of making use of your old Rock Band instruments to play on the upcoming Xbox One title.

Apparently, the Xbox 360 instrument adapter will be priced at $25 a pop if you were to purchase it as a standalone device, but Harmonix has revealed that those who decide to place a pre-order with the code “RB4ADAPTER” on Amazon will be able to obtain a $15 discount. In other words, this adapter will cost you just $10. This does make you wonder just how much profit from the sale of this adapter is in the first place, but I digress.

The reason that this adapter is required is due to the fact that Microsoft has done away with native support for Xbox 360 peripherals on the Xbox One, hence changing the way where wireless controllers hook up to the console. Hence, an adapter is required if you would still like to use your perfectly working guitars and drums from the previous game series. [Press Release]
