Basically FlowSign like works this way – it embeds ID information into the LED light itself. This LED light will then be used to illuminate the corresponding object, and when you snap a photo using your smartphone or tablet, a dedicated app on your mobile device will be able to detect the ID in the photo image itself, before registering it on the cloud. Most of the time, it will just carry a URL as there is only so little information which can be embedded within the LED light.
It would come in handy when shopping for products or goods, or even perusing through a supermarket when you need impromptu information such as nutritional information and the ilk. Heck, it can also be useful as a sightseeing guide, or as an exhibition guidance system. Fujitsu hopes to commercialize this technology before 2015 clocks out.
