Acer has announced its new lineup of commercial notebooks, the TravelMate P648 series is powered by 6th generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors with 4GB DDR4 RAM upgradable to 20GB. These notebooks have been designed to provide users with the performance for maximum productivity and multi-tasking, they’re aimed at business travelers and professionals, which is why Acer calls the TravelMate P648 the “ultimate professional road warrior.”

Acer TravelMate P648 has been designed and built to withstand rigors of frequent travel. It’s fashioned out of high-strength carbon with a glass fiber lid, yet it only weighs 3.7 lbs and measures only .83 inches thin. Bottom cover and palm rest are made out of aluminum which allows the notebook to handle extreme pressure and also protects it from drops.

The company says that this is the industry’s first notebook with tri-band 802.11ad wireless technology from Qualcomm, that enables the Travelmate P649 to use the 60GHz band wireless spectrum to provide speeds of up to 4.6Gbps, that’s ten times faster than 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

A handful of configurations will be available at different price points to suit all customers, specs range from a variety of processors to 512MB SSDs and up to 1TB of internal storage and even NVIDIA GeForce 840M graphics. HDR HD webcam with wide view, dual microphones and speakers, Thunderbolt 3 and three USB 3.0 ports are also present.

Safety and security features include Acer ProShield Manager suite of security and management tools, a biometric fingerprint reader and a Kensington lock that enables the notebook to be secured to a desk. The entire line of notebooks will be available to customers with Windows 10 Pro.

Acer will start selling the TravelMate P648 series notebooks in North America by April 2016 with prices starting from $799.99.
