Metal Gear Online Beta For PC Launches Tomorrow

mgs 5Just like how Grand Theft Auto V has an online multiplayer component in the form of Grand Theft Auto Online, so does Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V, whose online component is known as Metal Gear Online (not to be confused with the 2008 game). Now the feature has been live for console players since October, but PC gamers are close to getting it.

In fact during a Twitch stream (via IGN), Metal Gear Online community manager Robert Allen Peeler announced that the beta for PC will be going live tomorrow. The beta is expected to launch around 10PM PT on Tuesday, but Peeler also notes that there is a chance that it could  be delayed, so gamers will want to keep an eye out for any potential delays.

The beta won’t be open to everyone as players will need to opt in on it, so if you haven’t done so already, you probably should as you won’t be able to just log in and start playing it. For those unfamiliar, Metal Gear Online introduces various multiplayer modes to the game, such as Bounty Hunter, Comms Control, and Cloak and Dagger.

Given that Hideo Kojima will no longer be leading the charge on future Metal Gear Solid titles, safe to say that the online version of the game will be Konami’s way of keeping gamers interested until a new Metal Gear title is made, although this isn’t to say that the game is bad as many reviews have found the multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid V to be pretty good.
