As you can see in the screenshot above of the video, Miyamoto was sporting a red t-shirt with a Samurai Mario pictured on it. It seems that this t-shirt has some significance because in a couple of tweets by Bill Trinen, Nintendo of America’s senior product marketing, he seems to tease that the t-shirt could simply be more than a fashion statement.
The fact that Miyamoto wore the t-shirt twice seems to highlight its significance. It is unclear as to what this game will be about, but it seems that it will somehow involve Mario in samurai armor. It is possible that maybe it is just one of several skins available to users in the upcoming Mario game for the Nintendo Switch, or it could be something else entirely, but either way it does look pretty interesting.
This isn’t the first time that developers have teased upcoming games with their clothes. Earlier this year Hideo Kojima wore a t-shirt that had “DS” written on it, hinting at his upcoming game Death Stranding.
