Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Tops Game Sales For 2016

call-of-duty-infinite-warfareWhen Activision first announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the trailer was met with such huge dislikes that some were understandably worried for the game’s success upon its launch. Activision did not think too much of it and said that they were positive that despite the negative impressions, it would perform well.

Turns out that Activision’s gut was right because according to the latest figures from the NPD, it was revealed that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was not only amongst the top 10 games for the month of December 2016, but it was also the best selling game for the year of 2016, which is actually quite impressive especially when you consider that it only launched in the later part of the year.

It even managed to beat out the competition in the form of EA’s Battlefield 1 which came in second for the best selling game of 2016. Other titles that made the list include The Division, FIFA 17, Final Fantasy XV, Grand Theft Auto V (proving how despite it being relatively old it’s still moving tons of copies), and Blizzard’s Overwatch, just to name a few.

It is expected that Activision will continue to release a new Call of Duty game this year, so it will be interesting to see if the publisher will be able to maintain their streak.
