Legendary Pokemon Coming To Pokemon GO By End Of 2017

Recently the folks at Niantic added a bunch of new Pokemon to Pokemon GO which we guess was kind of a welcome move. However what is still missing from the game is legendary Pokemon, something that we’re sure that collectors are very interested in. The good news is that legendary Pokemon will be coming to the game.

The bad news is that you might have to wait a while. During an interview with WIRED Germany (via MobileSyrup), Niantic’s CEO John Hanke revealed that legendary Pokemon is still planned for Pokemon GO and that they will be arriving in the game by 2017. By that we’re not sure if he means it’ll arrive at the end of the year or if it will be released by that time, since technically next week would still be considered by the end of 2017.

However according to Hanke, he says that there are certain things that need to be addressed first, such as being able to play together with other players and improving on gym battles. “There are a couple of areas that need to be improved — one of them being playing together and gym battles. We released those in an incomplete state. We knew from Ingress that cooperation and planning can be a lot of fun. When people have a common goal, then that’s a strong incentive to meet up with friends or even with people you don’t know.”

Hanke did previously state that player battles and trading of Pokemon is a feature that they are still working on, but they are expected to be introduced in future updates, so we guess players will just have to remain patient.
