Galaxy Note 8 Dual Camera Said To Feature 3x Zoom

There have been countless rumors so far suggesting that the Galaxy Note 8 is going to be Samsung’s first smartphone to feature a dual camera. Samsung hasn’t confirmed that, though, but there’s even circumstantial evidence to support the theory. If a well-connected analyst is to be believed, the Galaxy Note 8’s dual camera is going to tout 3x optical zoom.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, best known for his Apple-related predictions, has long said that the Galaxy Note 8 is going to have a dual camera with a telephoto lens. He has now followed up that prediction by saying that the telephoto lens will be 3x.

Samsung is believed to have manufactured this dual camera system itself and it’s said to feature one 13 megapixel sensor for the wide-angle lens and another 12 megapixel sensor for the telephoto. Both are expected to have support for optical image stabilization.

None of this has obviously been confirmed by Samsung at this point in time so it should be taken with a grain of salt. The company is yet to confirm any details about the new flagship and it’s unlikely to do that before the official unveiling.

Samsung recently confirmed that it’s going to unveil the Galaxy Note 8 at an event in New York City on August 23.
