Future Lenovo Phones Will Ship With Stock Android

Android smartphone manufacturers usually slap their own skins on top of the core Android operating system to make it stand out from the crowd. However, there’s a growing community of Android purists that prefer to have a stock Android experience on their device. Lenovo has taken the feedback from its customers and decided that it’s going to ship all future smartphones with stock Android.

Lenovo smartphones previously came with the company’s own skin that was called Vibe Pure UI. The China-based company has now confirmed that it’s going to ship all future smartphones with stock Android, starting with the upcoming K8 Note handset.

The Lenovo K8 Note is going to be the company’s first smartphone to ship with stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Lenovo says that it has made this decision after hearing from consumers about what it is they want. It saw the trend that consumers prefer stock Android so that’s why Lenovo has decided to drop Vibe Pure UI from its phones.

There’s going to be no more Vibe UI going forward and Lenovo smartphones will shift to a complete stock Android experience. This is, without a doubt, a huge shift for Lenovo from a business perspective and the company is hopeful that it’s going to pay off in the long run.
