Canon EOS 7D MK III Rumored For March 2018

The Canon EOS 7D MK II was officially launched back in September 2014 which means that it has been about 3 years since its launch and probably means that it’s due for an upgrade. This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that according to the folks at Canon Rumors have heard that the EOS 7D MK III could be announced next year.

The publication has heard from their sources that the camera could be announced in March 2018. Assuming this is correct, once again we’re not that shocked at the possible date as CP+ is taking place in March, and announcing the EOS 7D MK III then does make sense. Unfortunately details on the camera are scarce at this point in time.

However Canon Rumor’s sources are claiming that the camera will be capable of shooting 4K video, something which is pretty much the norm these days, especially when you consider that even our smartphones are capable of doing that. Their source also mentions something about a “first time sensor” for a Canon DSLR, hinting that maybe Canon could include some kind of new sensor for the EOS 7D MK III.

In any case hopefully additional details about the EOS 7D MK III will be revealed soon, but until then take it with a grain of salt.
