Doogee V Smartphone With In-Display Fingerprint Scanner Leaked

Ahead of the iPhone X’s reveal, there were rumors suggesting that Apple could build Touch ID’s fingerprint scanner into the display of the iPhone itself. The rumors obviously did not pan out and while Apple might be forging ahead with facial recognition tech, other Android handset makers are continuing pushing forwards with fingerprint tech.

An example would be Vivo who will be the first to use Synaptics’ in-display fingerprint sensor, but it also seems that they are not alone. In a post on Twitter by leakster Evan Blass, it looks like another company could be launching a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. This phone will come from Doogee in the form of the Doogee V.

Details of the phone are unknown at this point in time, but based on Blass’s tweet and the render, the Doogee V will sport a 6.2-inch edge-to-edge display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and dual rear-facing cameras on the back. It also seems that Doogee has opted to use the same notched design as the iPhone X, but it is unclear if the company might have snuck in some facial recognition tech as well.

It is also unclear if Doogee will be using Synaptics’ technology, so we guess we’ll have to wait and see when the phone is officially announced.
