Overwatch’s ‘Blizzard World’ Map Will Be Launching January 23

Announced at BlizzCon 2017, Blizzard promised that Overwatch gamers could look forward to a new map in the near future. The map in question is an interesting one that’s called “Blizzard World” and has been created to resemble a theme park of sorts. The good news is that if you can’t wait to play it, Blizzard has finally announced a release date for it.

According to the official Overwatch Twitter account, Blizzard has confirmed that the “Blizzard World” map will be released on the 23rd of January. As the name suggests, this map brings together Blizzard’s various franchises, at least as far as a theme is concerned. The description reads, “See your favorite gaming memories come to life in Overwatch’s new hybrid map as you attack and defend the payload across Azeroth, Tristram, the Koprulu Sector, and beyond!”

Also while we’re not sure if it was intentional, it does give us a hint at what World of Warcraft could look like should it have adopted Overwatch’s engine, or what Diablo 4 could potentially look like as well. However this is probably just wishful thinking on our part, but one can hope, can’t they? In any case the map looks incredibly fun, so Overwatch gamers will probably want to keep an eye out for it when it is released next week.
