NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 Launch Expected On June 15th

It appears that NVIDIA might soon be launching a new graphics card. Reports suggest that the company is preparing to launch the Founders Edition version of the GeForce GTX 1180 on June 15th. It’s said that the new graphics card would be superior to NVIDIA’s existing flagship video card, the TITAN Xp. Previous reports have suggested that the new card will be based on the Turing architecture.

It’s claimed that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 will be Turing-based with a 12nm FinFET die shrink, GT104 GPU with 3584 CUDA cores and a core clock speed of 1600MHz. Peak FP32 performance will reportedly come in at 13 Teraflops with 8-16GB of GDDR6 memory.

If the claimed numbers are accurate then the new card will certainly tout significant improvements in both power and efficiency but this is far from confirmed at this point in time because NVIDIA itself hasn’t released any numbers.

It’s also unclear how much NVIDIA is going to charge for this graphics card. The TITAN Xp costs $1,200 so perhaps this will be a few hundred dollars cheaper. NVIDIA is expected to launch the GTX 1180 Founders Edition first and subsequently release it before custom cards from partners like ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte hit the market later this year between August and September.
