Apple-Approved Battery Pack With Lightning Input Launched By Belkin

Belkin has finally launched the first Apple-approved battery pack that has a Lightning input for charging. This is going to make life much easier for people who don’t carry a microUSB or USB Type-C cable because they don’t have the need for one. They can use the same Lightning cable that they use to charge their iOS device with to fill up the power bank.

The Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank Lightning 10K is the first power bank of its kind to be certified officially under Apple’s MFi licensing program. The seal of approval shows that the product meets Apple’s standards for compatibility and quality.

Belkin is selling the power bank for $59.99 and it offers a 10,000mAh battery inside which can be recharged with the Lightning cable that all new iOS devices ship with now. A compatible Lightning dock is available as well but it’s sold separately.

The power bank also has a couple of USB Type-A ports, one at 2.4A for faster charging and the other at 1.A. There are four LEDs at the top which show the current charge level at the press of a button. The button can also be used to toggle between charging input and output modes as and when required.

Belkin is taking pre-orders for this Apple-approved power bank starting today.
