Latest Galaxy S9 Update Improves Front Camera

Samsung is rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ today which is similar to the one released for the Galaxy Note 9 last month. The update’s changelog mentions that it brings an improvement for the device’s front camera. With selfies being the kind of photos that users take most often, this will be a welcome improvement for many.

The improvement in question is related to the brightness of faces. The changelog mentions that the brightness of faces in situations where there’s backlighting has been improved. The improvement will only really be quantified by those who taken selfies often and are able to notice that their face now appears brighter when they take photos with backlighting present.

That’s not the only thing that this software update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ brings to the table. Also included is the latest security patch for the month of October 2018. It brings fixes for dozens of vulnerabilities that were found in the Android OS.

Samsung is currently rolling out this update in Germany but it’s only a matter of time before it becomes available elsewhere as well. Look out for software update version G960FXXU2BRJ3 and G965FXXU2BRJ3 for the S9 and S9+ respectively.
