We Might Not See Any New Canon EOS R Cameras This Year

Earlier this year Canon launched the EOS RP, the more affordable version of its EOS R mirrorless lineup. Unfortunately if you were hoping to see more EOS R cameras this year, there’s a good chance that we might not see anything new this year. This is according to a report from Canon Rumors whose sources told them that there will be no new EOS R bodies being shipped out this year.

However this doesn’t mean that there won’t be any new announcements. According to the publication, they claim that there could be an off chance that Canon might announce a new camera later in the year, and that it might simply ship in early 2020 instead, but that’s just speculation so take it with a grain of salt for now.

It has been reported that Canon could have more mirrorless cameras in the works. One of those rumored cameras is a high-end EOS R model, which would give Canon the ability to cover pretty much all photographers with varying budgets (the EOS R is more of a mid-ranger, while the EOS RP is the entry-level model).

Take it with a grain of salt for now but we’ll have to wait and see if the company will be launching new cameras this year.
