Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 With Massive Portrait-Mode Display

As part of its CES 2021 lineup, Lenovo has announced a new Yoga AIO (all-in-one) desktop computer whose screen can rotate into portrait mode. This novelty will be much appreciated by anyone who works with long text (editing, coding).

The Lenovo Yoga AIO 7’s 27-inch display looks massive when in portrait mode because it’s an unusual form-factor. Once rotated back into landscape mode, it appears as a standard computer with a neat design.

The integrated speaker system has two 5W speakers (stereo) and is designed in cooperation with JBL/Harman. Lenovo made it possible to use the Yoga AIO 7’s speakers and display as peripherals for your laptop (via USB-C): that’s a really cool idea.

Inside, you will find an AMD CPU (Ryzen 7 4800H, Ryzen 5 4600H) and an NVIDIA GPU (RTX 2060 16GB/32GB), which makes it an excellent multimedia system capable of running advanced 3D games too.

For storage, up to 1TB of SSD can be selected at order time, along with an additional 2TB of HDD, which seems a reasonable maximum. It’s not immediately clear how easy the storage is to expand, but the chassis is relatively compact: count on changing the whole storage units down the road.

The 27-inch rotating display is genuinely the sway factor and might perfectly fit the needs of some users. In the AIO world, the Yoga AIO 7 is the only game in town when it comes to portrait orientation.

Because of the rotation, there’s no integrated camera that could find itself in an odd position. Instead, there’s an optional webcam, or you can use a non-Lenovo one if you prefer.

According to the specs, the display quality is relatively high, with excellent color reproduction (100% sRGB minimum and up to 99% Adobe RGB, 99% DCI-P3). Lenovo points out that the amount of blue light is reduced and certified by TÜV Rheinland, a company often cited by various OEMs.

If you’re not aware, reduced blue light brings health benefits and can improve sleep and reduce strain on the eyes.

Lenovo has made sure to include many USB ports, and you’ll find: a couple of USB-C (3.0 and 2.0), four USB 3.0 Type-A, and two more USB 2.0 Type-A along with a network port.

This computer will sell at the cost of $1599+ for the base configuration around the March timeframe.
